With skateboarding on his mind, 18 year old Carl Savard spent most of his time looking into ways to create his own skateboards. After a major car accident, Carl used his compensation money to start up. Using wood working tools, home made molds and sheets of maple he was able to do just that. 12 years have past and nothing has changed, Carl's dream is still alive.
Carl takes out a loan of $5000 and upgrades his tools and sets up his first shop space in the garage at his family residence in St-Lambert, Quebec.
June 16th 1995, Control skateboards inc. is born. Our mission is to let the worldwide skateboarding market try and use the best possible skateboards at the best possible price.
Early 1996 while skateboarding was becoming the next big thing, Carl and members of his family moved the shop into an industrial space big enough to hold the manufacturing and his new 5-0 skatepark located on the southside of Quebec.
One year later Control Skateboards MFG supersizes the shop to 7000 square feet.
In 2001, Carl decides to concentrate on manufacturing skateboards and closes the skatepark to use the extra space to his advantage by introducing innovative machinery with numeric equipement that places Control Skateboards MFG. in an even more competitive category on the worldwide market.
Fall 2004, the shop is moved into the most high-tech setup to date, with computer controlled router, robotic machinery, high pressure molds and 55 presses, Control Skateboards MFG's dynamic ways make this shop the most efficient so far. Carl's everlasting quest for high quality decks with a family type service makes his skateboards the best on the streets.
Summer 2006, Control Skateboards MFG takes sales to another level and creates a dynamic system to reach as many new interested customers as possible.
With approximately 15 employees today, Control Skateboards MFG doesn't just sell boards but also has bearings, wheels, trucks and grip, all around the world.
